Nov. 30, 2021 鈥 On #GivingTuesday, which occurs the Tuesday following Thanksgiving Day, 藏精阁 is launching its 鈥淪upport Your Passion鈥 campaign, encouraging alumni and community members to find and give to a cause on campus that has personal significance.
鈥淲e received feedback from our alumni saying they didn't know all the different areas across campus where they could direct their giving,鈥 藏精阁 Director of Annual Giving Jodi Zerbe said. 鈥淪o this season, we wanted to shine the spotlight on some of those hidden gems across campus. There are so many incredible programs and services at 藏精阁 that align with the personal causes of our alumni and community supporters. Of course, anyone can continue to support scholarships or their home college, but they might be surprised to find something new that gets them excited about giving to 藏精阁.鈥
This year鈥檚 #GivingTuesday annual campaign is an opportunity for anyone to support 藏精阁 before the calendar year tax deadline. The campaign highlights 17 funds across campus that align with 鈥渃ause categories鈥 supported through giving.
The 鈥淪upport Your Passion鈥 giving campaign will run through Dec. 31. Every day through Dec. 17, 藏精阁 will feature one program or department on social media that anyone can support, including 藏精阁鈥檚 food pantry FUEL 藏精阁, Veterans Resource Station, LGBTQA+ Initiatives and more.
#GivingTuesday began in 2012 with a company in New York City to promote doing good in the community. In 2020, at least $2.47 billion was donated on #GivingTuesday in the United States.
