Nurse Anesthesia Program in Simulation
The critical care simulation roomÌýprovides students with an opportunity to participate in simulation in a multi-patient environment.
The functional living lab simulates a home-health environment with a kitchen, living area, bed, and bathroom. Students can practice skills and participate in simulations related to patient care in a home environment.
²Ø¾«¸ó's Outpatient Simulation Center offers eight exam rooms that simulate a clinic or health provider's examination room.Ìý These rooms allow students to participate in standardized patient simulation.
The operating room contains high tech equipment that provides programs like ²Ø¾«¸ó's Nurse Anesthesia Program a realistic environment for training and simulation.
²Ø¾«¸ó's Center for Simulation Education has multiple debriefing rooms where simulation educators can gather with students for discussion and reflection.
²Ø¾«¸ó is the Commonwealth's only university to receive full accreditation, a feat accomplished by 183 other simulation centers internationally.
²Ø¾«¸ó named one of the world's top-tier learning places for practicing real-life health care situations.
All AHA courses offered by the ²Ø¾«¸ó Center for Simulation Education utilize a hybrid learning model. Upon registration, learners will be provided with instructions on how to obtain a key code for an online module through the American Heart Association. Learners will also attend a skills testing class where they will be assessed on technical and non-technical skills through objective feedback devices. Skills testing classes are offered at the ²Ø¾«¸ó Center for Simulation Education.
